Tradie for a Lady sends Brisbane’s Love barometer to a new high

It’s the real-life romance opportunity that has had Brisbane’s construction sites, bakeries and butcher shops buzzing, Triple M Brisbane’s Tradie for a Lady.

Tradie for a Lady began in 2007, and since then, singles have become doubles in the best possible way, tradies found their ladies and vice versa.

On Tuesday night it happened again, over 120 love hunters attended, and everyone now is waiting for the results.

Adam from Camp Hill applied in 2008, and says, “In-person meeting for me was a big thing. The internet is taking the personal side out. Everyone is on social media all the time. I’m not. I’d been single for a while, and it was me putting myself back out there. It was a great event. It was an icebreaker.”

And thankfully he did attend. “I met my wife (Louise) at 2008 Tradie for a Lady. We met with a similar taste in music. Live music was the thing for us. We got engaged at a Jack Johnson concert, actually. And in 2011 we got married.”

Now he and his wife have five children and Louise, who by chance came along with girlfriends because they were seeking a tradie says, “I would never have crossed paths with him otherwise. He still tells people he meets about it now.”
