On Saturday 17 May triple j is taking Illy, RÜFÜS, Dan Sultan, Violent Soho and The Jungle Giants to the regional town of Mildura. Set on the Murray River, Mildra is known for its houseboats and water sports, and is now the 2014 home of triple j’s One Night Stand.
 
triple j Drive presenter Lindsay ‘The Doctor’ McDougall said: “Water skis! Of course that’s not the only thing about Mildura that won me over. There’s the paddle steaming, hot air balloons, I could go on. The best thing about the One Night Stand is that we get to see some of the most interesting and beautiful parts of Australia, the places that our listeners call us from and tell us about their lives. We get to go there and see them and share their town with the country. Oh, and bring some sweet music with triple j’s One Night Stand.”
 
triple j will broadcast the entire event live on the radio, with Matt and Alex, and Zan Rowe bringing you live sets and interviews from 2pm. The concert will also be broadcast live on ABC2 from 7pm with hosts The Doctor, Linda Marigliano and Lewi McKirdy.

On-stage streaming will also be on the triple j website as well as online videos, photos, music streams and artist blogs. One Night Stand performances will then become available on ABC iView.
 
For this concert, triple j are also offering a big opportunity for one talented local act. As well as getting airplay on triple j and triple j Unearthed, they’ll get to play on a the festival stage.

To enter you must be from Mildura or the surrounding area and upload your songs to triple j Unearthed before Thursday 3 April. The winner will be announced on Monday 14 April.
