Triple M’s wrapped up its GOAT countdown of the 600 greatest songs of all time curated by a panel of the station’s music experts.
Before we get to No 1, the countdown has played out across the Triple M network for the past two weeks. Screaming Jets front man and host of Triple M Nights, Dave Gleeson, and presenter ‘Dangerous’ Dave Williams had the responsibility of moving through the top 20.
Previous Triple M GOAT Countdowns have crowned Freddie Mercury as Triple M’s GOAT Singer, AC/DC’s “Back in Black” as the GOAT Album, and 1987 as the greatest year in music history.
This countdown INXS had 18 songs in the Top 600, the most of any artist, closely followed by U2 and Jimmy Barnes (including his solo and Cold Chisel hits), each with 17 songs.
The No 1 Greatest Song of All Time was Down Under by Men at Work.

Colin Hay, the lead vocalist of Men at Work, said when he found out:
“This announcement makes me feel very warm and fuzzy. ‘Down Under’ is one of those songs people can relate to… even people in Bolivia love it. This song is rooted in the earth. Thank you, Triple M, for this achievement.”
