Triple M’s traffic chopper a Hobart first

“We’re not the most amazing traffic reporters… but our pilot, Greg Ross says he’s never had passengers who talk so much, so we’ll take that!”

After a morning of traffic chaos in Hobart earlier in the week, Triple M’s Dave and Al had had enough.

With congestion a major issue on our inner city roads, Dave and Al formulated a plan to keep Hobart up to date with the latest in Hobart traffic.

Working alongside scenic flight company, Par Avion, Dave and Al took to the skies in Hobart’s first ever Traffic Chopper. Reporting live on traffic congestion, accidents and free flowing traffic, Triple M was the home of a truly up to date report.

Al said, “We hear traffic grumbles from our listeners every day! One breakdown or a two-car crash and the whole city goes into gridlock! When this happens, people turn to us so we want to be able to tell people first hand where to avoid!”

Flying over the suburbs of Greater Hobart; Sorell, Glenorchy, Sandy Bay, Bridgewater, Cambridge, the Triple M Traffic Chopper reported on all the traffic hot spots and even got the exclusive on a 2-car crash on the notoriously troublesome, Midway Point Causeway.

A prize giveaway was also on offer for our listeners, when they saw the chopper hovering over Hobart, hundreds of people called into the station to go into the draw to win a city helicopter experience with Par Avion.
