Two big appointments at MRN

Macquarie Radio Network (MRN) has announced the appointment of Jon Stubley to the position of Group Direct Sales Manager and Kate Edwards to the newly created position of Head of Integration.

MRN CEO, Angela Clark said, “We are delighted to be able to announce someone of Jon Stubley’s experience and industry knowledge to the position of Group Direct Sales Manager. With over 18 years experience in media sales, specialising in radio, Jon will be an invaluable addition to the senior sales management team.

“Jon joins us from Australian Radio Network (ARN), where he held the position of General Sales Manager for the past three years. Jon joined ARN as a Retail Sales Manager in 2002, so has a comprehensive understanding of the radio sales process at every level. This sort of experience is essential when managing a dynamic and effective sales team.

“Prior to 2002, Jon held a range of strategic sales positions across the spectrum of electronic media including; Sales and Marketing Manager musicMAX for XYZ Entertainment (2000-2002), Sales Director from Nethead Communications (1997-2000) and Sales Executive for Nine Network (1996-1997). Jon began his electronic media sales career at Triple M, where he worked in both direct and agency sales from 1991 to 1996,” said Ms Clarke.

Of Kate Edwards, Ms Clark said, “We are delighted that Kate has accepted this pivotal strategic position. The role will focus on developing integrated customer solutions across our portfolio of media assets.

Kate, previously our Network Promotions Director, has a unique exposure to all our assets and a proven track record in innovative and integrated campaigns. The Head of Integration role will involve creative strategies developed on a client by client basis. MRN can now provide the mass audiences of radio with the targeted demographics of our online portfolio. We also have extensive video production capacity which thus far we have not used to its maximum effect for our clients,” Ms Clarke said.

According to Ms Clarke, LIVENEWS.com.au has grown to 288,093 unique browsers per month having been launched just last August. In addition to this, the new RugbyLeagueLive.com site, which was launched in February this year, already has over 30,000 subscribers in its tipping competition.
