Two questioned over Barker stabbing

Police have reported that two people are being questioned over the stabbing of Macquarie Network morning newsreader Rowan Barker, one of them a 16 year old boy.

Barker was stabbed outside a Christmas party at the house of former 2GB news editor Justin Kelly in St Ives last Saturday.

Police are saying a 20-year-old man went to Frenchs Forest police station about 3.30pm Friday and was arrested a short time later.

A West Pymble property was searched three hours later and a 16-year-old boy also arrested. Meantime a car had been seized at Raymond Terrace near Newcastle for forensic testing.

2GB news director Jason Morrison said Barker was thankful for the thousands of letters and emails wishing him well. He was released from intensive care at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital on Monday.
