Graham Mott: An Instinct for Radio
Peter Saxon discusses a life in radio with the 2012 Hall of Fame inductee. Graham Mott has radio in his veins. He climbed to the top of the industry, old school, by starting at the bottom. He was just 17 when the legendary Barry Augustus gave him his first job as a panel operator at 2GB, in 1969.

Until last Saturday night, there were two things Graham Mott did not know: what really happened to Harold Holt and that he was going to be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame. “I had no idea whatsoever. It wasn’t until Derryn started speaking and talking about things this person had done that I started thinking, “Gosh- someone’s got a story similar to mine.I should know who that is. And then he said it was someone who’d sacked him, and I thought, ‘now it is getting warm because I’d certainly done that. And then towards the end, I thought maybe it is me.’”

George & Paul celebrate their 10th anniversary this weekend at 2UE
The highest rating show on 2UE is on the weekend, hosted by George Moore and Paul B. Kidd. It lasts five hours, from 9 am – 2pm both Saturday and Sunday. Although Survey 6 brought in the lowest result they’ve had for some time, it’s still a very respectable 8.6, according to Paul, which is almost double the station’s average share of 4.9.
