Well known radio identity Chris Brammall passed away in Sydney yesterday after a long battle with a lung condition. He was aged 59.
Brammall began his career as an announcer at 2GN Goulburn and went on to become General Manager of the station.
He then served in various senior management positions within the AWA network and took 2CH to number one while he was GM of that station. He became a Group GM of Wesgo in its heyday and went on to be General Manager of 2GB.
Brammall was well known for his sales expertise and was heavily involved with the development of Sales Courses for the Radio Marketing Bureau of FARB. Many sales people around the country know him as the assessor of Commercial Radio’s basic sales training courses and for his teaching at AFTRS.
Chris had a dynamic personality with a quick wit and a great sense of humour – a radio professional through and through. Friends say that his last wishes were that he would see the birth of his first grandchild and his 60th birthday in February. He had recently become a grandfather.
Chris Brammall’s funeral will be held 3pm this Thursday (4 December) in the South Chapel at the Eastern Suburbs Crematorium. No flowers, by request.
