Reverend Jay Bacek has died at the age of 82.

NSW Liberal Leader Kellie Sloane started out as a volunteer for him with Life Education, featuring Healthy Harold before becoming Board Director then CEO when Bacek retired.

He was a regular on 2GB, filling in for the Reverend Bill Crews and was also a part of 2CH for two decades sharing his thoughts on faith, life and community matters.

Outside of Life Education, Bacek was involved with Drug Free Australia, Diabetes Australia and the NSW Parole Board.

He is survived by his wife Dianne and children Michael, Anna and Brad.
