Perhaps those living in the southern and western states won’t give a flying, but there’s an interesting little annual Rugby League match known as “The State of Origin” that always fires up passionate rivalry between New South Wales and Queensland.
Normally it’s not a problem as long as you stay on your side of the border. But the Sydney vega 95.3 breakfast crew has two members Tony and Mikey, both rabid cockroaches – the less than endearing name bestowed upon New South Welshmen by the Queenslanders. And then there’s Bec, a died in the wool cane toad – a less than loving description of Queenslanders coined by NSW.
To even things out, they put in a call to Queensland Premier, Anna Bligh, and the boys wasted no time running their northern cousins down.
Anna gave as good as she got!
