vega tunes in with BigPond Music

dmg Radio Australia has launched a new online initiative that will see its vega stations in Melbourne and Sydney join forces with BigPond Music to create a new music portal that is fully integrated with the on air offerings of both stations.

Listeners will now be able to head to the vega websites to purchase and download tracks. as well as find out more information about songs just played on air.

Browsers will also be able to search for other songs featured on the vega 91.5fm and 95.3fm playlists, including the greatest hits from the 70s and 80s as well as the best new music.

The vega BigPond Music portal will be promoted extensively on air as well as being featured on both vega websites and through a dedicated page hosted on www.bigpond.com.

Vega Promotions and Marketing Director Jane Earnshaw has told radioinfo: “The vega and BigPond Music initiative has been in the pipeline for over six months now and we’re all very pleased to see it come to fruition both online and on air.

“We chose BigPond Music as our partner for this project as we think it will be a fantastic addition to vega’s offering and one that we think that our audience will embrace.”

BigPond Group Managing Director Justin Milne says: “BigPond has been an active player in the local market in providing Australians with safe and legal music downloads since we launched in January 2004. We’re delighted that vega has chosen BigPond to provide music downloads to their listeners. This means listeners will now be fully in tune with BigPond Music and can carry on listening to great vega music whenever and wherever they like.”
