Vega ups the Idol age limit

The most common request that Australian Idol judge and vega 91.5fm radio announcer Dicko faces when he is doing Idol is to relax the age limit to allow older people to audition. What Idol can’t do on television, vega 91.5fm’s Dicko, Dave and Chrissie can do on radio – especially on a station that targets over 30’s.

They have started the search to uncover the best unsigned talent over the age of 30. One singer will have the chance to experience the superstar life – performing in front of a live audience at The Palms at Crown, recording their single and getting air play on vega 91.5fm.

A passionate supporter of music, Dicko says, “There are a lot of people in their 30s, 40s and 50s who never had the opportunity to audition for a show like Idol as it didn’t exist. These people have engaging life experiences. We want to uncover their stories, find out what they have to offer and give them a second chance.”

Listener votes will help select four finalists from online entries to perform at The Palms at Crown on Thursday, 30 April with a public vote to determining the ultimate winner on the night. The winner’s single will be recorded and receive air play on vega 91.5fm.
