In what is described as the world’s biggest national music poll, voting has closed for triple j’s Hottest 100.

The national youth network has been asking listeners to vote on line or by SMS for their 10 favourite songs for 2004 and be in the running to win every triple j feature album (about 85 CDs). There was a limit of 10 votes per person and multiple votes for the same song were not accepted.

The winner will be announced on Hottest 100 Day – Wednesday 26 January – when the 100 most popular songs will be played, all the way down to number one.

For some tragics, the Hottest 100 is an obsession. One young man has every Hottest 100 winner since inception tattooed on his backside.
