West Australian premier Colin Barnett was one of the guests on Paul Murray’s last 6PR program today.

Barnett captured the moment in a selfie with the drive show host (right) then tweeted it to his followers.

In October Paul Murray announced his retirement from full-time radio, but intends to continue his newspaper columns and fill in on 6PR when asked.

Murray began his career at The West Australian newspaper in 1970 and after a career in newspapers, moved to radio in 1990, and has been with 6PR since.

Listeners and colleagues called and tweeted the program to wish Murray all the best in his retirement.
 

Adam Shand will replace Murray on the 6PR drive program from 12 January next year.
