Wendy Harmer has looked back on her life and career in a new episode of the ABC’s Conversations hosted by Richard Fidler.

From her country origins in country Victoria, Harmer served as a cadet journalist in Geelong, then the Sun News-Pictorial before discovering a love for stand-up comedy.

She is a playwright, children’s author and tv and radio host, and will finish as the c0-host of ABC Radio Sydney’s Breakfast program at the end of this year
