Veteran 2GB night presenter, Brian Wilshire, has brought up 25 years – in the same job at the same station!

Wilshire left 2UE in 1979 where he had been a senior journalist and newsreader.

He has survived many upheavals in his subsequent quarter century, including the dismantling of the Fairfax radio network, changes of ownership and shuffles in management.

Wilshire has seen 2GB at the top in the mid ’80s, and endured long down periods before 2GB’s recent return as Sydney’s #1 rating station.

Even in the leaner years, when those around him were struggling to attract audience, he has consistently rated highly in the evening/night slot.

In doing so, Wilshire becomes the longest serving presenter at one station.
