X-digital launches in Perth

This Saturday from 6pm Perth’s New, ‘All Hit’ X-Digital will be broadcasting an Australian radio first.

With the news that Katy Perry will be in the country this weekend performing on Channel Seven’s The X-Factor Grand Finale alongside One Direction, X-Digital will be playing Katy Perry’s brand new album PRISM in full.

The album hit iTunes at midnight Friday 25th October and X-Digital Perth will be playing the deluxe version of the album which features 4 bonus tracks in full on Saturday night.

X-Digital content director Scotty McLaren say: “It’s great that we can provide the listeners of Perth a inside look into Katy’s new album which is expected to shoot to the top of all of the charts around the globe. We will be playing every single song from Katy’s deluxe album which was released on iTunes this morning and we’ll even have little bits and pieces from Katy herself explaining the album, her love life with John Mayer, and what it’s like to be Smurfette.

“The idea behind playing the album in full comes from the days of rushing into the record store many of years ago to listen to your favourite band or artists album in full. They used to do these listener parties where you got to hear the album and talk to other fans about what you thought of it. This is a truly unique experience in the 21st century and I’m looking forward to the feedback. I’ve been lucky enough to hear the album and it’s a little different from Katy. I think her fans will love what she has done with the new album. Every song sounds completely different, but they are certainly built for the live arena, and it would be awesome if she decided to do a stadium show in Perth at the WACA”.

X-Digital is encouraging listeners to tell them what they think of the album in an online discussion via the station’s social media pages Twitter and Facebook.

Katy Perry will commence her world wide PRISM tour in America next year and she is expected to release details of her Australian tour when she touches down in the country over the weekend.

In the meantime, if you want to hear Katy’s album in full you can make the switch to X-Digital on Saturday night from 6.
