Macquarie Radio Network has appointed Stephen Spencer as its new Canberra Bureau Chief. He held the same role with Macquarie Radio Network in the 1990s and rejoins the company on Monday November 28. News Editor Justin Kelly says Spencer is “an outstanding journalist with at least 20 years experience… one of the best parliamentary reporters in the Press Gallery.”
Spencer spent 3 years as the Director of Communications for Federal Opposition Leader Simon Crean and is currently the chief speech writer for the ACCC. He has lectured in journalism at University, is a published author and a Walkley Award finalist.
