Radio TAB today anno

Radio TAB today announced the decision by leading Queensland race caller Wayne Wilson to retire from race broadcasting. Wilson started broadcasting in 1960 in Gladstone before beginning his professional career with 4BC in 1969. Wayne’s last call will be August 7, his 41st anniversary of race calling in Brisbane.
His replacement will be David Fowler, who has been understudy to Wayne for 11 years, and the station’s chief harness racing broadcaster since 1992. He will conclude his regular harness racing commitments at the end of Albion Park’s July Winter Carnival and Chris Barsby will assume David’s position in August.
