Not that there was ever much doubt, but when KIIS 97.3‘s Robin and Kip asked their listeners via a social media poll what one thing from Brisbane’s past you would want to bring back, the answer was resoundingly, Sizzler Cheese Bread.
But then it was discovered that Fritzenberger, in South Bank, had somehow acquired an authentic Sizzler toaster. To celebrate all this week the restaurant will be offering the side dish for free with every meal and Robin & Kip will also have pop-up Cheese Toast locations across Brisbane to share the love even further. Gosh I wish I was still in Brisbane!
The KIIS 97.3 team has already handed out hundreds of slices of the beloved toast to nostalgic Brisbanites. Tomorrow, Wednesday July 12, they and Broncos legend Corey Oates will be at Bunnings in Brendale from 7am, doling out delightful cheesy toasty magnificence.
