Supposing that's all true about Kyle's rant, the commercial success of the show is irrelevant. In our society and capitalist economy, ethics are supposed to take precedence over commercial profitability. Just because the show rates well doesn't necessarily mean that it complies with acceptable standards of decency. I couldn't really care if they swore all morning and talked about sex and fart jokes, that's not offensive to me but it's the malicious intent towards other individuals that makes it gutter trash radio. I would have thought ARN would have thought better of allowing it on air. I perceive them as being safer and more family friendly than the other networks but money talks, I suppose.
Peter, I suspect you'll be in Kyle's sights tomorrow. If this is what rates and brings in bucket loads of revenue, I despair for what we've become.
I wouldn't worry too much Peter, I think Kyle has thicker skin than what Dan's giving him credit for.
