The February Triton Australian Podcast Ranker will be a memorable one as, with the news this morning that Kyle Sandilands contract with ARN has been ‘terminated’ then this may be the last time the show features. The catch up Kyle and Jackie O Show podcast was at No 14, up 5 places with just shy of a million monthly downloads. From Feb 23 it was just Kyle, and one of the days neither Kyle or Jackie. The podcast stopped on March 3.
No 1 this month was Mamamia Out Loud again. it is making hay while the sun shines, or while Hamish and Andy take their ‘Government mandated break‘. Hamish and Andy dropped to 19 & 20 respectively with their normal and catch up Plus+ podcasts. Their listenership hasn’t changed from February 2025, but Mamamia’s has. From February 2025 they have gained 350,000 monthly listeners – and those numbers are a real lesson to others about positive outcomes from providing quality content over holiday periods.
It’s Married at First Sight season and the Nova catch up (and fun) MAFS Funny podcast surged 75 places to No 4. With the series still going it is likely to remain in the top 10 next month too. Abbie Chatfield was back and in the top 10 too at #9. There was just one non Australian podcast in the top 20, The NYT’s The Daily.
A final note was that the highest catch up radio podcast (now that Life Uncut have shifted to LiSTNR and SCA) was SEN Breakfast at #13 and up 34 places, particularly impressive as February is the gap before football seasons commence and after the Ashes.
