In a move that pits him against 2UE’s highest rating weekend show, George and Paul,  Ray Hadley has announced that he will now be airing on Saturdays on top of his regular schedule – at least until the football season starts. The show is also likely to compete with 2UE’s cricket coverage at least for the latter part of the show as it approaches midday.

His new six day week is meant to mirror the changes happening to news cycles and working weeks.

“Over the past 13 years the news cycles have evolved and Saturday has become a very important news day. Its also a day when there’s many more cars and trucks on the road in the Sydney metropolitan area because people are now working 6 days a week”

The Saturday show will only be broadcast to 2GB’s Sydney audience, although Hadley mentioned that listeners could use the 2GB and Tune-in apps as well.
