Started on-air in commercial radio late November 1971 at the then 2KM Kempsey. I've also been an on-air volunteer since 1993 with community station 5E-FM in Victor Harbor and received Life Membership in 2004. In addition, I'm a Life Member of community station 5PBA-FM based in Salisbury, South Australia and participated in their first test broadcast in April 1981. I've also been heard on-the-rotation doing Aussie 'liners' via a unique Internet radio station. Run by legendary US programme genius, Ron Jacobs at www.whodaguyhawaii.com the site featured only the best of Hawaiian music from then and now. As the late Robert W. Morgan ("Good Morgan, Los Angeles") remains my broadcast hero, my association with Ron (Robert's PD at 93KHJ in LA) is a real buzz. As a kid growing up in 60's Sydney, I fell in love with the 'air craft' and just loved the powerhouse 2SM 'Home Of The Good Guys' and 2UW with the '11-10 Men'. I married Di in 1975 and The Wright House has produced 3 great kids and is home to an array of birds and animals,AND lots of music !!! We became first time grandparents in November'08. And that's me, STILL BREATHING and STILL LOVING the challenge of selling & being on-air. Oh, I also share my January 12, 1954 birth date with American 'shock jock' Howard Stern and that's where the similarity begins and ends ! You'll also find my BLOG at the website noted below. After 40 years in Australian commercial radio, I briefly ventured into the new home sales arena in October'10. The later part of my radio career to date saw a combined 16 years with Adelaide's Radio1323, 5DN, 5AD-FM, SEN1323, MIX102.3 & Cruise1323, all from 201 Tynte Street, North Adelaide. In mid March 2011, the radio magnet latched on to my bulky frame yet again and I joined the team at 1125 5MU / Power FM, looking after advertising sales, promotions, PR and 'whatever' on the South Coast, covering the Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Mt. Compass & Yankalilla region of South Australia. I also help out on-air and with voice over work when required, alongside radio legends 'Sundo' (Jeff Sunderland) & Barry Martin. In the after hours 'spare time' I run my freelance script writing and voice over business from home - 'IAN's VOICE OVER THE WORLD'. You'll find me at www.voiceovertheworld.com.au
