The Canberra regions original radio station, 2CA officially celebrates its 80th anniversary on November 14 and leading up to the festivities, 2CA has been compiling the 80 Greatest Hits of all time.
Unlike other mass produced countdowns, this is a truly local countdown where listeners nominated and voted for their favourite classics from the past 80 years.
The variety of songs nominated really showcases the Canberra regions biggest variety of music, from timeless classics like Peggy Lee’s “Fever” to AC/CD’s It’s a long way to the top and Billy Ray Cyrus’s Archy Breaky Heart.
Amongst the most nominated artists are the Beatles, Led Zepplin and Elvis Presley.
2CA’s 80 Greatest Hits of all time starts 9am this Friday and will be repeated on Saturday from midday.
