2CC contributes cash to schools

Every month 2CC FM is giving local Canberra schools the chance to win a $1,000 cash grant to help out with any worthwhile educational purpose in it’s ‘My School Bonus’ promotion. The first round of nominations in September saw a huge response from principals, teachers, students, parents and past students, all pitching their school’s dream projects and wish lists.

2CC announced during the week that Hughes Primary School was the very first recipient of the My School Bonus. Principal Kate Smith was thrilled to receive the cheque and plans to put the money towards the construction of a bike rider training track that will teach students about the road rules and rider safety. The track will include operational traffic lights and its own petrol station.

2CC General Manager, Michael Jones says that: “This is one of the most uplifting promotions the station has been involved with. To see school communities coming together to help realize some dreams for their kids is terrific and through the My School Bonus program, 2CC can really make a difference.”

The monthly $1,000 grants can be used for any worthwhile educational purpose including purchase of musical instruments, text books, sporting equipment, school excursions technology, art and craft supplies, and specialist mentor visits.

The promotion is supported by 2CC’s sponsor Artisan Stone.
