2RE and MAX FM put Taree kids into orbit

In what could be a radio first – certainly for a commercial regional station in Australia – announcer Craig Huth, together with 10 students from the local Chatham Public School will speak direct to Commander Mike Finke on board the International Space Station via a telebridge from Goddard Space Flight Centre in the USA.

Craig will also be joined by the Prime Minister of New Zealand John Key, who will represent and speak on behalf of the Asia /Pacific Region. Prime Minister Key will greet and initialize the interview with Commander Finke followed by questions from the students of Chatham Public School.

The big event unfolds at 6 pm EDST on Wednesday February 25th. The radio special will feature on both 2RE and MAX FM with highlights broadcast across the Super Radio Network.

Craig’s boss, 2RE/MAX FM Taree General Manager Murray Nelson was quick to heap praise on him “This ground breaking occasion epitomizes the true passion and commitment Craig has for the radio industry and is a true reflection of why he is continually deserving of recognition from the Commercial Radio Industry.”
