2RRR continue building community radio bridges

Community radio station 2RRR based in Sydney’s Ryde district is continuing to build networks with other Sydney community stations inviting 2NBC from Kogarah to its studios in the Henley Cottage at Gladesville for coffee and an open and honest chat.

Left to right – Glenn Williams and Paul McGrath from 2NBC and Natalie de Silver and Dino Mancini from 2RRR.

This invitation follows on from 2RRR visiting 2RDJ in Burwood last year and a commitment to gradually meet other surrounding community radio stations to compare notes and encourage ongoing open communication.

2RRR Chair, Dino Mancini, and Manager, Natalie de Silver spoke with 2NBC Manager Paul McGrath, and announcer, Glenn Williams about finances, revenue raising, sponsorships, technology and technical support, membership structures, presenter discipline, volunteering needs and more.

Dino said:

“We fitted in as much discussion as possible within three hours and still wanting.”

Paul agreed, adding:

“We’re eager to have 2RRR come to our premises to further our discussions and build a bridge between our stations.”

Natalie and Glenn couldn’t believe the commonalities and challenges faced with agreement that maintaining an open line of communication would benefit all.
