Adelaide small business owner Hana was in tears after being selected to enter The Millionaire’s Lounge as part of the show’s Million Dollar Summer on The Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy. Ultimately the Christies Beach in Adelaide local chose guaranteed cash over a shot at $1 million.
Hana was flown to Melbourne and faced with the ultimate decision: take $50,000 guaranteed or open an envelope for a chance to win $1 million, hidden behind one of 100 doors.
Tommy Little: “We have a million bucks in cold hard cash between one of these doors! Hana has chosen door number 63 – she has the envelope in her hands. She has a decision to make: take $50,000 in cash now…”
Carrie Bickmore: “… guaranteed cash! …”
Tommy: “… or she can choose to open the envelope and play for $1 million. If you take the $50,000, we pass the envelope onto the next person who can play for $1 million.”
Hana: “$50,000 would change my life! My goal for this year is to get a slice caravan and that was a big dream for this year.”
Carrie: “And a slice caravan is for your business ‘Slice Slice Baby’!”
Hana: “Yep, so I don’t have to do my market pop-up set-up, it would mean I don’t have to buy branded boxes… it would be a game-changer for my business.”
Tommy: “Hana, the choice is yours… we all hope that you win $1 million OR that you have a guaranteed $50,000 right now.”
Hana: “This is such a hard decision… but, I’m going to have to take the $50,000! (cheering)”
Carrie: “Congratulations, Hana. This is going to be lifechanging for your business.”
Hana: “(crying) This is winning! I’m a winner!”
Then, after Hana walked away with $50,000 thanks to Liberty, the envelope was passed to the next contestant, Lauren, who didn’t uncover the $1 million – but still received $10,000. You can watch below.
