92.7 Mix FM’s breakfast announcers Mark and Caroline will go live on air for 25 hours straight, in a last minute attempt to raise more funds for Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids. The broadcast will occur out the front of Mix FM headquarters, beginning from 11am on Thursday, and will continue despite the rain.
Over the last 11 years Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids has raised in excess of $2.4 million, with $267,000 raised last year. The Sunshine Coast community and local businesses have been instrumental in raising this amount.
With a couple of days until their deadline, Mark and Caroline believe they need to take extreme measures to meet their target of $25000.
92.7 Mix FM’s breakfast announcer Caroline Hutchinson says, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if the money runs out, so do I!! We are going to have to raise a lot of money to make me stay awake for 25 hours!”
The campaign finishes this Sunday with the Annual ‘Jessie’s Party’, which honours a Sunshine Coast girl who passed away several years ago, and whose dying wish was a party in the park for all the kids.
Mark and Caroline believe they are set to meet their target, and perhaps raise enough to bring the total towards $200,000 for the month.
