ABC Classic to countdown the 100 most popular Music for the Screen

ABC Classic’s Classic Countdown will run over the weekend of June 11-12, counting down the top 100 works as voted by audiences.

This year’s theme, Music for the Screen will give listeners the opportunity to vote for their favourite music created for the screen, whether it’s from a film, TV show or game.

Next weekend, presenters Greta Bradman, Megan Burslem, Martin Buzacott, Dan Golding, Vanessa Hughes, Stéphanie Kabanyana Kanyandekwe, Alice Keath, Genevieve Lang, Ed Le Brocq, Meena Shamaly and Russell Torrance will take listeners from the high seas to galaxies far, far away, from Middle Earth to Downton AbbeyHogwarts to the Animal Kingdom, the countdown will celebrate the rich and immersive soundtracks of the screen.

Stars of the screen such as David Wenham and Miriam Margolyes, have joined ABC Classic over the voting period, along with Screen composers Nigel Westlake (Babe) and Laura Karpman(Marvel Cinematic Universe).

The countdown runs across Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June, beginning at 9am each day AEST (8.30am ACST, 7am AWST).

The number one will be announced at 4pm AEST (3.30pm ACST, 2pm AWST) on Sunday afternoon.
