ABC Great Southern No 1 station, Hit’s Allan and Carly nab top spot on breakfast in Albany: Xtra Insights

The first Xtra Insights survey of Albany in three years saw ABC Great Southern reclaim its position as No 1 station in the region with Hit WA’s state-wide regional Breakfast show, Hit Breakfast with Allan & Carly, who have been together now for two and a half years themselves, seeing a bigger gain than Paul Cook on the ABC to pinch No 1 off him.

ABC Great Southern was up 3.6 to 24.1, making up ground on the 9.3 they lost last survey. HIT95.3 was up 0.8 to 23.8, just behind. Triple j just held third ahead of Triple M 783, dropping 5.8 for all audiences 10+ and more than 13 in the 18-39 ages groups.

Allan and Carly were up 4.0 to 26.7, Paul Cook up 1.5 to 25.9. Triple M’s new recruit on breakfast, Atlas Cook, saw a 1.0 drop to 9.5.

Hit was ahead in Afternoons and Drive, the ABC at night.

SCA Head of Regional Content, Blair Woodcock, said:

“Congratulations to our SCA Albany team for their amazing regional radio survey results today, with the SCA Network growing almost 12% in audience. Not only is HIT95.3 the commercial radio station most listened to for people 10+ in Albany, Allan & Carly is the #1 Breakfast show and Carrie & Tommy is the #1 Drive show. Meanwhile, the fiercely local approach for 783 Triple M Albany has delivered an audience growth of 16%. Again, congratulations to the entire team who work tirelessly for this result!”

Most stations were steady or gained cumulative listeners, with only triple j seeing a significant drop.
