The Walkley Awards for excellence in journalism, news and current affairs reporting, were handed out last night with the ABC grabbing nine of them – three for Radio.

The winners in the Radio section are:

RADIO NEWS REPORTING: Stephen McDonell, for “China Earthquake”

RADIO CURRENT AFFAIRS REPORTING: Rachael Brown for “Medical Board Ignores Dr Rape Claims”

RADIO FEATURE, DOCUMENTARY OR BROADCAST SPECIAL: Tony MacGregor, Colm McNaughton and Russell Stapleton, Radio Eye – ABC Radio National for “Awakening from History?”

And in the BROADCAST INTERVIEWING category the winner was: Chris Uhlmann, AM ABC Radio, “Last Days”
