ABC Radio Tasmania live from Agfest

The ABC team returns to Tasmania’s agricultural field day for 2018. 

ABC Radio Tasmania together with ABC Rural keep Tasmania will keep listeners in touch with all the news and stories from Agfest.

Agfest is rural event that has been operating for 35 years, with last year’s Agfest attracting 62,787 patrons and 758 exhibitors.

The event is organised and managed by Rural Youth Tasmania, a non-profit organisation whose members are aged between 15 and 30 years of age.

ABC Rural’s Country Hour’s Tony Briscoe and Margot Kelly will be roaming Agfest in search of stories and characters to profile on the Country Hour from midday to 1pm on both Thursday and Friday.

Margot will also be showcasing Agfest on ABC Northern Tasmania’s rural report each morning at 6.15 am.

Statewide Mornings with Leon Compton will broadcast live from the event on Friday, between 8.30-11am. Leon will also stick around for Saturday, sharing all the latest with Chris Wisbey on Weekends.

On Saturday, gardening guru and green-thumb royalty, Peter Cundall, will be there to take listeners’ gardening talkback questions in person, plus there’ll be a gardening workshop with Gardening Australia presenter Tino Carnevale.
