ABC stations join commercials to celebrate 3 years of digital radio

Next week will see ABC Radio join with commercial radio stations in major outside broadcast events to celebrate three years of Digital Radio in Australia. The ABC has now announced its lineups for the big day.

High profile ABC Radio presenters will broadcast next to their commercial radio peers from early morning on August 24 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth.

Currently ABC Digital Radio broadcasts its established networks – ABC Local Radio, ABC Radio National, ABC NewsRadio, ABC Classic FM and triple j and 5 digital only radio stations – ABC Dig Music, ABC Jazz, ABC Grandstand, ABC Country and triple j Unearthed.        

It has also broadcast over 40 special event pop-up stations, covering a wide range of festivals, speeches, celebrations, commemorations and emergency broadcasting, most recently ABC London 2012.

The OB Broadcasters are:

612 ABC Brisbane will broadcast Breakfast with Spencer Howson in King George Square from 5am.

Sydney: 702 ABC Sydney – Breakfast with Adam Spencer ABC Grandstand – Breakfast with Francis Leach

Melbourne: 774 ABC Melbourne – Breakfast with Red Symons & Mornings with Jon Faine

ABC Jazz – Breakfast with Mal Stanley and Jessica Nicholas

Brisbane: 612 ABC Brisbane – Breakfast with Spencer Howson

Adelaide: 891 ABC Adelaide – Breakfast with Matthew Abraham & David Bevan

Perth: 720 ABC Perth – Breakfast with Eoin Cameron
