AFTRS graduates score 100% employment rate

The newest crop of students from the Australian Film Television and Radio School’s (AFTRS) Radio Branch have all graduated. And all of them have landed jobs in the industry. About 150 invited guests from all facets of the radio industry were on hand to witness the ceremony held Friday at the school’s new Moore Park premises.

AFTRS Head of Radio, Steve Ahern was thrilled at the result saying,
“All of this year’s graduates have secured work in the radio industry and are looking forward to beginning their professional broadcasting careers.

“Ten students have completed this year’s Graduate Diploma in Commercial Radio Broadcasting and six students have completed the Graduate Diploma in Radio Broadcasting by flexible delivery. These outstanding young broadcasters are poised to contribute strongly to the future of radio around the country,” said Mr Ahern.

Thirteen students of the Graduate Certificate in Commercial Radio Programming have also formally graduated this year.

AFTRS CEO Sandra Levy said: “We are very proud of our latest graduates and believe their individual talents will take them to great heights in the industry.”

Since the inception of radio courses in the 1980s AFTRS has produced highly skilled graduates who have gone on to achieve high profile careers and many have won Australian Commercial Radio Awards, ABC Radio Awards, and other radio industry accolades.
