AIR News has been sold

Australian Independent Radio News is changing hands and if all goes to plan then come the 1st July it will be owned and operated as AIR News Media by Terry Daniel of Coffs Harbour.

AIR News has been in operation since the end of 2004, and has been delivering National News and Sport services to Radio stations since then, these days delivering 144 National News/Sport bulletins ,35 State/Territory bulletins,10 editions of News headlines, 10 editions of AIR Sport Australia and 5 editions of The World each week.

For all involved there will be no apparent change, the news service will operate exactly as it does currently, with all the same presenters and same services.

Current owner Artie Stevens will be staying with the business as News Director and covering weekday breakfast news until, at this stage, 30th June 2020 and with a retirement date line drawn in the sand Stevens says “This is the best arrangement that can be had for our clients and listeners across the country, and provides an excellent succession plan.”

Terry Daniel says “It is a pleasure to be purchasing a well-established and comprehensive news service that Artie Stevens has developed over the years. The staff are a team of professional journalists who take pride in delivering a consistent news and sport service.

The Daniel brothers, Terry, Richard and Glenn, have been involved in the radio industry since leaving school and are still involved in the industry today.
 
Glenn, currently at smoothfm Sydney and Richard, working in media throughout South East Asia, will act as consultants to Air News.
 
Terry has worked in commercial radio including starting Radio 2CS Coffs Harbour as PD and Breakfast Announcer in 1985 and is currently the owner of Discovery Apps and Online Radio 2DD.
 
Terry says he “…is looking forward to working with Artie in adding new features to Air News and maintaining the great service used by many community and a number of Commercial stations throughout Australia.”
