AirCheck reaches all points east with move into Queensland

RCS has expanded its AirCheck product into the Queensland market with services in Brisbane and the Gold Coast from Saturday.

This complements the Sydney and Melbourne services, by providing consolidated music and commercial airplay data from the three biggest markets in Australia.

AirCheck, a world leader in broadcast monitoring and automated audio identification (which delivers actionable broadcast information to the radio, record, print media and advertising communities with on-line, same-day data via its website) was launched in Australia in September 2004. A subscriber-based web service, AirCheck uses patented technology to match audio to fingerprints of thousands of commercials and songs every day. This allows subscribers to see reports on song and commercial airplay information from each major market on the eastern seaboard. It is 24 hour monitoring, and a 24-hour service.

The current subscriber base for this technology includes all major record companies (Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony/BMG Entertainment and EMI Music) and all major radio networks (Austereo, DMG and ARN).

A great deal of interest is now being shown by advertising agencies, as their clients increasingly demand same-day broadcast verification and competitive analysis.

Managing Director of RCS Australia, Keith Williams told radioinfo:

“The powerful data produced by AirCheck has been recognised by our clients as a valuable business tool for pro-active music and advertising intelligence not available anywhere else. AirCheck is the complete radio monitoring service and our rollout includes Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and Newcastle next.”

AirCheck Australia also publishes weekly Top 20 songs and Top 20 commercials spin charts based on the actual number of airplays in each market. This is the first time ever in Australia that charts have been produced based on pure airplay rotation.
