Albury Wodonga survey results to be released this morning

Results from the first all-of-industry radio ratings survey in Albury Wodonga in more than a decade will be released this morning.

After the introduction of new regional surveys, which has enabled a more cost effective audience measurement system for radio broadcasters outside of the major markets, the survey will include commercial and ABC stations in the market that sits on the borders of NSW and Victoria.

The River 105.7, 2AY, 104.9 Star FM and the ABC have all been part of the radio audience research conducted by Xtra Research, which involved 800 respondents. The survey was conducted between 11 – 31 May 2014.

Radio industry body, Commercial Radio Australia announced last year a new radio research protocol for regional licence areas outside the main GfK Radio Audience Measurement contract, to allow more regular and less expensive research.  Under the new system, regional radio stations can commission one of four approved ratings survey contractors in conjunction with other commercial and public broadcasters in their licence area.

Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner said: “Competition within the commercial radio industry is at an all time high.  Effective and insightful research providing advertisers and stations with information on who’s listening and why they are listening is vital.”

radioinfo will bring you the results as soon as they are available.
