Alex Cullen has announced his departure from the GOLD Network Christian O’Connell breakfast show to focus on family. He was employed to replace Jack Post who had been with Christian from the start and acted as the show’s resident sports guru.
‘It’s really been wonderful. But look, the grind of holding down two jobs at both ends of the day was really and something had to give. I had some serious conversations with my wife, Bonnie, and I’ve decided the time is right to put that early morning alarm clock away for a while and concentrate on my TV roles and my very very very energetic young family.”
Christian O’Connell said:
“Alex has been a joy to work with and get to know. I totally understand why he’s leaving as it’s been a crazy schedule having two jobs and a young family!”
ARN Chief Content Officer Kerri Elstub added:
“Alex is a true professional whose love of sport and authenticity shone on air. While we know there are no sleep-ins with young kids, we know you’ll enjoy a different kind of alarm clock.”
Today is Alex’s last day.
Last Monday Pete Deppeler switched from a long time role as part of The Kyle and Jackie O Show with ARN to join Christian O’Connell with that move made with the knowledge by the network of Alex’s departure. Alex joined the show in July 2025.
