With their bickering getting a little out of hand recently, Hit WA’s Allan & Michelle were confined to a houseboat for the week to work on their relationship and broadcast their state-wide breakfast show.

Because what better way to unite a pair than to confine them to a small houseboat?

Last week, the duo were tasked with completing a week of Survivor-esque challenges, including catching each other’s dinner straight from the ocean (they went  hungry that night), answering personal quiz questions about each other; making and successfully launching a raft boat (note: weight limits apply with this sort of thing!) and learning a song on the guitar well enough so that it would be recognised by listeners.

The purpose, if they passed enough challenges, they would get a two week holiday from their 4am alarm clocks or they would have to stand in a pit of snakes and spiders for 90 seconds.

Given both Allan & Michelle have their emails set to Out of Office, you can surmise that the week was a success and resulted in many laughs. Allan & Michelle said it was a great way to refresh their ‘marriage’.

Allan says, “I’ve learnt heaps more about Michelle – when I thought I knew her pretty well anyway. Times got tense, but for the most part – we love each other. I was still pretty happy to return to my wife though!”

Michelle says, “I’m stronger than I give myself credit for – who knew I could solo-paddle a homemade raft?! Was happy to do it for the team for the sake of warm beds that night. There was no way I was sleeping on the shore!”
