AmplifyCBR, on Thursday November 21, will launch Reach Out Speak Up, starting conversations about coercive control and its role in domestic and family violence in our society.
Both Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3 will launch Reach Out Speak Up Day with the their breakfast shows, Wilko & Courts and Kristen & Nige speaking with victims, community leaders and front-line workers who deal with Domestic and Family Violence every day. The conversations continue across the workday with Rod & Gabi’s Canberra Wrapped on Mix 106.3 and after with a series of commercials, podcast episodes and social media posts, created in-house.
To compliment the Reach Out Speak Up campaign, a website will also be launched, created pro bono by Canberra agency, Supercurious providing information about identifying Coercive Control as a victim or active bystander, and where to get the tools and help needed to address the behaviour in relationships, friendships, workplaces and social or community settings. Reachoutspeakup.com.au also includes the podcast episodes hosted by some of the amplifyCBR on-air team, speaking with victims and first responders involved in Coercive Control in Domestic and Family Violence cases.The first episode features Canberra Wrapped host, Gabi Elgood speaking with David Kramer, a close friend of Brisbane woman Hannah Clarke who was murdered along with her children at the hands of her husband. David is now an anti-Domestic violence advocate speaking about how men can create change.
Reach Out Speak Up carries a universal message and has resources for all of Australia and all Australian radio stations to join the campaign to call-out coercive control and prevent domestic and family violence in our community.
