The 2026 Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) Conference will take place from the 22nd to 24th of October at the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre. Your MCs this year will be broadcaster and Content Coordinator at the CBAA Beth Tracey and Wilyakali Barkindji journalist, performer and former CBAA First Nations Affairs Correspondent Micah Kickett.
Micah said of the upcoming conference and awards:
“I am most looking forward to being able to connect with like-minded people but also having a great time and hopefully being able to share some laughs along the way.”
Beth added:
“I’m really excited to finally get the chance to meet face to face with the many familiar voices I listen to each week and have had many a call with. I can’t wait to hear from the amazing speakers this year, to learn as much I can about this sector and bring that with me in my day to day.”
Beth has also been involved with 2SER 107.3FM since 2018. She is a champion of Australian music and co-created the feminist radio program Yours, Mine & Femme.
Micah reporting from Parliament House for NIRS, The Wire and Koori Mail, bringing First Nations stories to community radio audiences nationwide. He is studying the Graduate Diploma in Radio & Podcasting through AFTRS and Aboriginal Theatre through the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Entries are open for the Community Broadcasting Awards which are held immediately following in the conference.
