Alana McLean and Robbie Klitzing won an ACRA for Best Music Special Country at this week’s ACRAs in Brisbane.
The pair do breakfast together on Red FM Western Australia, the network that has just been sold to SCA.
Alana and Robbie were delighted with their ACRA, but they also had some other good news to share with radioinfo when we spoke to them after receiving their award.
They are getting married and will be moving to Melbourne, after two and a half years of hosting breakfast on the Redwave network.
They spoke to Steve Ahern on the winners’ red carpet after accepting the trophy, breaking the news of their engagement:
“We’re moving to Melbourne so this is the last time we will be maybe a duo… finishing our chapter as breakfast radio co-hosts and start a new chapter together.
“Robbie has got a job for Gold FM and I’m moving with him to Melbourne, so we decided to put a rock on it…
“We did keep it professional as the award shows (laughs)…”
