Caralis further extends coverage in NSW and SE Qld

Bill Caralis, independent owner and operator of the 2SM Supernetwork, has this week upgraded another four translator services as a further part of the companies multi-million dollar technical upgrade development and coverage expansion plan.

A further eleven new translator services are planned to be commissioned before Christmas 2006

Supernetwork Group Engineer Alan Bone who plans and installs all the Supernetwork facilities finalised the installation yesterday on the new state of the art facilities (including new transmitters and transmission towers) at FM 100.3 Forster/Tuncurry, FM 106.7 Glenn Innes, FM 88.7 and FM 89.5 Goondiwindi.

Long serving Moree sales executive employee Barry Goodman says the listeners at Goondiwindi are rapt in the improved signal as they are in Forster/Tuncurry and Glen Innes.

Alan Bone told radioinfo “it has been a massive job to finalise these upgraded services and I am sure we can continue to meet Bill’s completion deadlines and finalise all our new translator upgrades and installations by Christmas.”

The usually media shy Caralis says “once we have finished our regional translator installations we will move on to fitting out our brand new office and studio facilities for our 4 stations 2HD-New FM Newcastle and 2TM-FM 92.9 Tamworth.

This then leaves us with new office and studio facilities to be built and fitted out at our recently purchased stations at Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Orange.”

The Caralis Supernetwork covering Sydney, regional NSW and South East Queensland is made up of 32 AM and FM stations and 33 Translator services and is now the largest radio network in NSW and the second largest in Australia.

Caralis concluded “as soon as all these new translators are up and running I will be off to Mykonos to buy new Grecian White marble for the 2HD-New FM fit out and no doubt my Network Group Engineer Alan Bone will be ‘surfing with the stars’ off Santorini, he needs a break.”
