CBAA representatives visit Canberra

The CBAA recently visited Canberra and Parliament House to discuss the ongoing vital role community radio plays in times of emergency and disaster.

After the summer’s devastating bushfires many Ministers, Senators and MP’s experienced the importance of community radio first hand.

The CBAA is advocating for increased funding through the Community Broadcasting Foundation’s Development and Operations funding pool, to upgrade and replace ageing infrastructure. This allows stations have the resilience and strong operations they need to serve their communities whatever the situation.

The CBAA representatives went on to catch up with local community station Valley FM in Tuggeranong and the community radio sector’s Federal Political reporter Amanda Copp in the Press Gallery.
