Award winning musician, writer and producer, disability advocate and Powerd Media lead for the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA), Eliza Hull, received an Order of Australia Medal over the long weekend in recognition of her service to people with disability and the arts.
Eliza’s role with Powerd Media sees her pulling together media by and for people with disability, often in collaboration with community broadcasters, both for radio and TV.
She said:
I want to use the visibility of this recognition to help create more opportunities for disabled people to be heard, represented and celebrated across media.
Through Powerd, I’m committed to supporting projects that shift narratives, challenge assumptions, and build platforms that are genuinely accessible and inclusive.
This feels like a powerful opportunity to keep pushing for change – not just in representation, but in enabling space for people with disability to tell their own stories.”
