Clear Channel’s CHR and Oldies advertising schedules

Clear Channel’s reduced advertising schedules under its new policy (see earlier stories) have leaked out within days of the announcement.

radioinfo can reveal the company’s planned schedules for its CHR and Oldies formats:

All CHR formats will be allowed to run 11 minutes per hour in breakfast (5am-10am), with 10 minutes per hour at other times and 8 minutes per hour overnight.

On Clear Channel’s Oldies stations 12 minutes of ads will be run in breakfast with 10 minutes at other times and 8 minutes overnight.

There will be a maximum of 6 units per break, except in overnights where there will be only 4 units allowed. In the US radio industry a ‘unit’ does not have to be confined to 30 seconds and can often be 60 seconds long or as short as 15 seconds.

Breaks will be a maximum length of 4 minutes in these formats.
