CMTO is skilling up community journalists across Australia

A group of passionate community broadcasters with a keen interest in stories that matter to their local communities, have just graduated from CMTO’s six-week Introduction to Journalism In Community Media online course.

Throughout the course, participants from across the country, recorded interviews, crafted a news bulletin and pitched a current affairs story.

They also attended webinars with industry professionals such as Saffron Howden, Co-founder of Crinkling News, Doug Cronin from Our Race and John Bergin from The Walkley Foundation.

This is the third round of the course, which has seen 34 participants graduate with a range of new skills to offer their stations and communities.

Participants have hailed from community stations and organisations from across the country, including 8CCC, JOY 94.9, FBI Radio, Coonamble Community Radio, 2RDJ, 4ZZZ, 1CMS, Dusty Radio and more.
