Community radio presenters in prison on Fathers Day

Melbourne community station PBS 106.7FM is preparing to set up studio at Port Phillip Men’s Prison for a special live radio broadcast this Father’s Day, Sunday 2nd September.

The OB will present “a unique musical experience for the children of inmates on this significant family day,” according to the station.

The audience for this show will be prison inmates and their families. The focus is to provide a unique musical experience for the children of inmates on a significant family day. With face painting and other activities lined up, this project is about offering a relaxed, fun event for the kids going to visit their dads on Father’s Day.

This project is an initiation of PBS 106.7FM, produced with the assistance of the Community Broadcasting Foundation and made possible with cooperation and support from the staff at G4S Custodial Services.

It will also be broadcast nationwide on the Community Radio Network (CRN).

The Father’s Day Prison Broadcast will be aired live on Sunday 2nd September between 1pm and 3pm on PBS 106.7FM, PBS Digital, and www.pbsfm.org.au. It will also be broadcast on 3CR 855AM, and available nationally via CRN.
